Paying It Forward Disinfectant Donation Doesnt Disappoint

In keeping with the giving season's spirit, American Carpet One Floor & Home shared some good, clean love by the bucket, literally. Throughout November, the Honolulu, HI store donated over 200 5-gallon buckets of First Defense disinfectant to fellow members of its local business community.

Supplies were provided to retailers, restaurants, and nonprofit organizations in time for the holiday rush. American Carpet One Vice President Daniel Arita said it was one of many ways the store works towards being better neighbors and friends.

“We made many new contacts with local businesses, and they were very grateful,” Daniel noted. “Giving back to the local community is the most important way to help our economy get back to where it was before the pandemic.”

Donation recipients expressed their joy via Instagram, using the hashtag #acofirstdefense to share their own experiences. The Hawaii Children’s Discovery Center, Tana of Tokyo, several local eateries, salons, and other organizations were among the happy beneficiates.

American Carpet One Floor & Home has been serving greater Honolulu for nearly five decades, and the team has formed many lifelong friendships over this time. “This community has supported us, and now we support them,” Daniel added, noting the Hawaiian tradition of “mahalo,” a term used to describe the spirit of gratitude.

The water-based, bleach-free disinfectant has been proven effective against viruses, including Covid-19. The buckets typically retail for around $100 a piece. For more information on Carpet One Floor & Home or find a locally owned and operated store near you, visit www.carpetone.com/
